Studio Theory: Object Art and Design (a unit of study in my university course), this semester has been involved in concepts of virtuality in relation to the object. One of the components of the course is research into a 'Mutant Material' or process. The research component is designed to assist us to look out side our own particular square by searching out new and different process, products and techniques that could extend and combine with our own artistic practice. After a lot of looking I finally made a choice. The focus of my research is Vitraglyphy; a name chosen for the process of 3D printing using glass as the main ingredient.
I'm blogging my findings on the hows, who's, whats and wheres of this magical process called vitraglyphy. The 'journal' is the real blogging part, where you can follow my journey of discovery, in the 'pages' sections you can read more comprehensive information. I hope you find it as exciting as I do.
I am in my second year of a BVA at Sydney College of the Arts in the Glass studio, head over to my first blog Spikeabell's Ramble to see my studio work.
