Science Reality catches up with Science Fiction...Can we get the transporter next?
I would not be the first to say that 3DP feels like science fiction come true. From the famous Star Trek's 'Replicator' to the many mentions of similar machines in fiction (from my large collection of sci fi and fantasy books 'Envoy' by Shannah Jay springs to mind) we have had the creativity to imagine such things and now ingenuity has been used to make them.
3D printing has come a long way in a short time, and the Vitraglyphic process is even newer. I would like to see it's recyclability features promoted and explored more. Also I would like to see glass artists working with the Solheim Lab team more directly in technique and process.
Now that would be a great residency!
